CYMO Foundation Wins 2015 San Diego Non-Profit Organization Award
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Cymo Foundation Receives 2015 San Diego Award
San Diego Award Program Honors the Achievement
SAN DIEGO August 13, 2015 — Cymo Foundation has been selected for the 2015 San Diego Award in the Non-Profit Organization category by the San Diego Award Program.
Each year, the San Diego Award Program identifies companies that we believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and our community. These exceptional companies help make the San Diego area a great place to live, work and play.
Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2015 San Diego Award Program focuses on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the San Diego Award Program and data provided by third parties.

Testimony
I first want to start out by saying CY-MO saved my life. I would never be here today if it were not for The Zafar’s and their foundation. I was completely addicted to Heroin, which started when I was in high school at Torrey Pines. Before Heroin I was very involved in pills, alcohol and marijuana, amongst the social scene and partying, it was my sole purpose in life. The drugs brought me to a point where I became homeless, friendless, jobless, moneyless, but mainly helpless and hopeless. I was completely pitiful and horrified for all the decisions and mistakes I had made. I had so many dreams and goals for myself and I never thought I would become “that” girl. Basically my self-centeredness brought me to the point of self destruction. I finally reached out my hand to the CY-MO Foundation because I had no one and nowhere to turn. From that moment on, my whole life has changed.
The CY-MO Foundation took me in with their loving ways and sent me up to Orange County to a treatment facility called Yellowstone. I immediately got a sponsor and began and completed my 12 steps in the program of recovery. I go to 5-7 meetings a week and visit detoxs in Orange County 6 days a week. I work a full time job and continue working my maintenance steps on a daily basis. I cannot describe to you how grateful I am for CY-MO and the life I have today. I am happy, healthy and thriving today! Because of CY-MO I am going to achieve all my goals and dreams and my new purpose is to help the next alcoholic suffering, or anyone for that matter!

Jerry
11/10/83 – 05/05/08 When Jerry was young he loved animals, playing baseball & swimming. Being he oldest sibling, he loved hanging out with his brothers Sean, Devin & Pat. Like a young comedian, erry could always make us laugh. He enjoyed scuba diving, sailing, & snowboarding with all his friends. Jerry was a talented musician & excelled at the guitar. In his spare time, Jerry was always writing, playing, & composing music. He graduated college with a film degree from Brooks Institute of Photography. After school Jerry worked as a film editor for Man Eater Films (the main editor for the Discovery Channel). He recorded a CD about his struggles with drug addiction. Drugs destroyed his intense love for life. We miss Jerry so much. Losing him broke our hearts.
Adam
04/08/83 – 05/27/07 Adam was a vibrant and beautiful soul. His presence in a situation would ensure that everyone was having a good time. He had the unique ability to make you laugh and lighten the mood. His persistence to excel drove him towards his goals. He enjoyed good music and good food. He was going to be a Chef. Adam also had a passion for helping others and loved kids. Funny, caring, passionate, and loving described our Adam. He was truly a light on this earth and will be missed by all.
Michael
1988 – 2008 Mike was a comedian. He could imitate Cleveland from “Family Guy” or Gollum from “Lord of the Rings” better then anyone I know. You think you like cars? Mike was a luxury & sports car nut. He could own noobs on W.O.W. all day & night. He loved music…The Shin and Gogol Bordello were some of his favorites. He was the friend who would make you feel better by always making you laugh. We all loved to hang out with Mike. He was a cool & loving little bro…Drugs took him away from us far too young. I wasn’t even able to take him out for a drink on his 21st birthday or see him get his college degree. Love you, Mike…
Matt
07/20/83 – 04/20/06 Matthew had an uncanny ability to form strong bonds and lasting relationships. He always seemed to know the right thing to say or do to comfort or encourage those around him no matter what the circumstances. he was known for his razor-sharp wit and humorous anecdotes. His selfless nature and effortless ability to make others laugh made him someone everyone wanted to be around. Matt will always be remembered by his profound caring and understanding for all people and especially those in need of encouragement and support.
